Mifflin-Juniata Energy
Bank/Coalition of H.O.P.E.S.
“Help Offering Programs & Essential Services”
The local Mifflin-Juniata (MJ) Energy Bank is a coordinated
effort of all the agencies in our community who meet emergency
energy needs. The Energy Bank provides a single point of contact
and is completely funded by local donations. The United Way of
Mifflin-Juniata is the repository for funds. The money from the
Energy Bank is disbursed through two local nonprofit agencies;
the Salvation Army in Mifflin County and the New Shelter
Services in Juniata County. Energy Bank funds are distributed
based on priority to families who are 60 or older or families
with children 14 or younger with income verification being part
of the process.
